The minute pumpkin spice season hits, I’m all in until January. Here are some of my favorite pumpkin spice recipes to celebrate the coziest time of year.
I can hardly wait for pumpkin spice season to kick off. I usually take my cue from Starbucks and that first pumpkin spice latte of the year ~ thankfully they tend to jump the gun, and that’s just fine by me. So while Starbucks has your coffee covered, here’s all the rest of the pumpkin spice recipes you’ll need this fall!

Canned pumpkin isn’t a compromise ~ it’s the smarter choice.
- Better pumpkin! Commercial purées are made from specially bred varieties of pumpkin and squash that are denser, sweeter, and less watery than the stringy jack-o’-lantern types we buy fresh.
- Canned is often more nutritious, too, with more beta-carotene, and more fiber, than fresh.
- My go to brand is Libby’s because it’s consistent in color and texture, but in a pinch I’ll grab whatever I can get. And yes, I stack those cans three high in my pantry.

Ingredients
- 3 Tbsp ground cinnamon, warm, sweet, and cozy; the backbone of pumpkin spice.
- 2 tsp ground ginger, adds a little zing and brightness.
- 2 tsp ground nutmeg*, nutty and slightly sweet, it deepens the flavor.
- 1 ½ tsp ground allspice, the flavors of cinnamon, nutmeg, and clove notes in one spice.
- 1 ½ tsp ground cloves, bold and aromatic; use sparingly for depth.
Instructions
- Stir everything together well and pack into an airtight jar. Store in your pantry.
